What do we mean by the “General Education Fund?” [1]

The “General Education Fund” (GEF) is the fund that primarily supports the Universityʼs diverse educational mission. In fiscal year 2012 the GEF budget was $626 million, of which approximately 58% came from tuition, 34% from state appropriations, and 8% from recovered indirect costs on research grants and contracts.
